Bilmuri Treats Reno’s Lucky Few to a Big Night at the Grand Sierra Resort

It's the 3rd of October and you are so excited for the Bilmuri show that you had bought tickets way in advance. You get in your car and start heading into the Central Reno Basin for the show. Leaves fall from the trees, you feel the 70 degree weather on your skin, and rush hour traffic starts to build.

You get to the venue, find parking, enter the theater at Grand Sierra Resort and Casino, and patiently wait. The lights dim, the first audio track plays overhead, flashing lights start up rapidly. This was just the beginning of a night that you’ll hold near and dear to your heart.

NOVELISTS

The Novelists set was full of great lighting design, audio quality, few pre-recorded tracks, and heavy screams. Hailing from France this genre-fluid band put on the definition of a rock show for Northern Nevada. Not being fully exposed to Novelist, I didn’t know what to expect when I saw lead singer Camille Contreras walk on stage with a pink fluffy dress. Then she let out a scream, one that's not too insane, but a distinguished mark to let you know they are serious.

KNUCKLE PUCK

Knuckle Puck was a great middle set band for this tour, Novelist really shined with the metal-core aspect and Knuckle Puck came out with their signature pop-punk sound. The crowd was wild, the lighting design was simple but great, the audio amazing. Oh, and did I mention there’s parts of their set with some quick little blast beats? This was my second time experiencing Knuckle Puck, the first being at Warped Tour, and I have to say they have really elevated their game.

BILMURI

This band is a true headliner. You’ve heard metal-core esque music, pop-punk, and now its time for country, metal, rock, (and, is that jazz?) to have a blend and take stage.

Bilmuri comes out swinging with their now infamous Halo Theme cover that branches into their song “KINDA HARD.” With tour experience under their belt, they are no strangers to how to control the stage and momentum of the show. Gabi Rose’s vocals really shined from stage right, comforting and complimenting to that of Johnny Franck.

The tour has since concluded but I will be the first to say that you should absolutely catch a Bilmuri set. Even if you don’t know their music, the band is full of world class acts that excel at entertaining and spreading amazing vibes throughout the stage and into the crowd. Out of everything I saw during this show, I would rank it easily one of my top five concerts for 2026. Now as we head into into 2027, I highly recommend that you go see them.

This Reno show was one of the most intimate show fans could ever have with a band like Bilmuri. Surprisingly, the show wasn’t even close to selling out. But that comes down to the local market, and Bilmuri’s performance was stellar regardless. Reno is conveniently located along a major tour route, between the Bay Area and Salt Lake City, so bands of this caliber will keep rolling through and delivering phenomenal shows, even if they don’t fill the room.
