Bleachers Sell Out Night One at Boston’s MGM Music Hall
If you’ve never been to a Bleachers show before you might expect a handful of guys on a stage playing some tunes, and while that is not an inaccurate description a Bleachers show is so much more than that. The incredibly talented band spend the evening moving around stage, changing instruments, creating an incredibly dynamic show.
This tour has focused on making sure that the people in the room are the people who want to be there, and it has paid off. From the first song to the last, the whole room at MGM Music Hall was engaged, the sold-out Boston crowd dancing and singing their hearts out. The Bleachers have a way of making every person in the room feel special. Playing songs from across their discography new and long-time fans alike got to hear something they love.
Despite growing up in New Jersey, Boston has always held a special place in front man Jack Antonoff’s heart, it’s where his parents went to college, and it’s a city that has welcomed him with open arms many times. Bringing his dad out for How Dare You Want More solidified the family affair.
To get the night started, Hovvdy (pronounced Howdy), brought a mix of songs old and new. Easing the crowd into the night, the Austin-based band shared their chill indie rock with the room. They didn’t want to keep the energy too low though as their set built as it went on, crescendoing throughout their set.
