Boundaries have officially announced their next full-length album, Yearning: the unbeautiful after, which is set for release July 17 via Sumerian Records. In addition to the announcement, the band debuted their new single and music video “Death Will Follow Me.” The single is the second track released, following last month’s “Skies Cast Amber Black.”
The album carries a heavy emotional weight, almost like a gravitational pull that anchors each track to the band’s process of working through the complex emotions of grief. Vocalist Matthew McDougal shared, “This time last year was one of significant sorrow for this band and many others. The tragic accident that took the lives of our friends so suddenly has since had us in a state of perpetual mourning.” McDougal continued to explain that “Death Will Follow Me” only scratches the surface of the concept of grief.
The album title Yearning itself is challenges fans to ask themselves “What do you want from life, relationships, or whatever you spend time on?” With the subtitle the unbeautiful after referring to what you eventually spent your time doing and where it lead you.
Yearning: the unbeautiful after features fourteen tracks and guest appearances from Landon Tewers of The Plot In You (“Crowned and crucified”) and Make Them Suffer (“Torn wide open”). Pre-orders and pre-saves are available now across multiple formats.
Boundaries will spend much of 2026 on the road. They are currently touring with The Amity Affliction and August Burns Red. RØKKR was on assignment when this Boundaries stopped in their home state of Connecticut, so be sure to catch the review and incredible images HERE!
The band will follow their current tour with additional appearances at major festivals, including Rock am Ring, Download, Warped Tour, and Louder Than Life.
