Bowling For Soup celebrate 20 years of A Hangover You Don’t Deserve with new live album
Earlier this year, Bowling For Soup celebrated the 20th anniversary of their breakthrough album A Hangover You Don’t Deserve with a huge sold out U.K. tour. Deciding they wanted to share this special occasion with Bowling For Soup fans around the world, the pop-punk legends announced A Hangover You Definitely Deserve (Live), a live recording from their sold out show in Manchester.

Set to release on October 24 via the band’s own Brando/Que-So Records, this live album includes all the banter that is the cornerstone of any Bowling For Soup concert. Featuring 36 tracks, you get the hits in “1985”, “The Bitch Song”, and even the theme song to Phineas and Ferb “Summer Never Ends”.
The band formed in Wichita Falls, Texas in 1994, spending years grinding it out in vans before the U.K. took a liking to “The Bitch Song,” and things skyrocketed from there with “A Hangover You Don’t Deserve” putting them squarely in the limelight. Frontman Jaret Reddick discusses the initial decision to make a live album for the 20th anniversary, saying:
“I remember being terrified as the 20th anniversary of this album approached. We would have to learn all 18 songs…at least half of which we hadn’t played since recording the album. But as we started plowing away through the album, the magic came back. It was such a good time in our lives and our career making this monster! I hope that comes across on this live recording. I sure feel like it does.”
To offer a first taste of the new live album, the band released the much beloved “A-Hole” as a single, with an accompanying live video that you can watch here:
Reddick goes on to explain how this was a decision 20 years in the making:
“A-Hole' is one of those songs that I always thought could have been a single. Then, when we did the album tour and asked John James Ryan to join us on stage with his Sax, it took on an even greater life! This song was the highlight of my night during the tour. And I am so glad we are getting to release it in this capacity.”
As Bowling for Soup wraps up a massive U.S. tour with Simple Plan, 3OH!3, and LØLØ, they look towards the rest of the year with more festival shows at Four Chord and Aftershock. After a short headlining tour with The Dollyrots and Don’t Panic, which will lead into Warped Tour Orlando, the band will close out their year with their largest headlining show of their careers: headlining London's OVO Arena Wembley on December 13, with support from Wheatus and Punk Rock Factory.
