BRYMIR Drop Rowdy Cover of Scooter’s “How Much Is The Fish”

The year is 2003, I've been listening to Scooter, Cascada and Tiësto all day. Posse playing in my headphones, Walkman poking out of my Adidas trackies. I flick through the music channels on Sky TV and accidentally land on Kerrang.

My 13 year old mind was blown as I stared wide eyed at Slipknot's Left Behind music video. Fast forward to 2026, Finnish melodic death metallers Brymir drop a rowdy and boisterous cover of Scooter’s “How Much is the Fish” bringing my heavy metal journey full-circle.

This reworking of the Eurodance classic lands as a bonus track at the end of Brymir's darkest album to date, What We Leave Behind, showing its not all doom and gloom and they are up for having some fun. With this also bringing attention to their open condemnation of ocean pollution. With a number of live performances of “How Much is the Fish” under their belt, some salmon plushies have been spotted flailing in the crowds affectionately nicknamed “fish pits."

What We Leave Behind released on October 2 via Napalm Records.

What do Brymir have to say, well straight from the horse's mouth (fish's mouth?): “As the album on the whole is definitely the darkest we've done so far, musically and thematically, we wanted to close the album with a bonus song of something defiantly upbeat and silly.”

They have certainly achieved that! Be sure to give this a listen, it'll certainly bring a smile to your face. Brymir is currently playing release shows in their native Finland and will tour Europe in February and March 2027 — find all dates below! Now I wonder if I still have those Adidas trackies?!
