Earlier this month, Emily Wolfe released her newest single “Power” ahead of her upcoming album on Judge & Jury Records. The single is the second from the new album to be released and a continuation of her pursuit of honesty and authenticity. “What do we all really want?” the Austin based singer asks, “Power. Sex. Honey. Flesh. Primal. The most fundamental human desires.”
“I think everybody wants those things, they just don’t always say it out loud,” she continues, “That song is me saying it out loud.”
“Power” is about taking the expectations and shame around things people truly want and throwing them away, leaving just the raw and powerful desires behind. For Wolfe, the song is about the raw urges behind everything and the need to own your desires.
Beyond the original music, Wolfe recently showcased her talents and creativity on Musora Studio’s popular Covers Challenge. Tasked with reimagining “Ocean Eyes” by Billie Eilish in her own style and that of Black Sabbath, she came up with a cover that pulled in vintage guitar tones and rhythm and turned the track into a guitar forward rock ballad. The video of the creative experience has garnered over 2.2 million views, and gives fans a glimpse behind the curtain to the creativity and skill that makes Wolfe special.
Wolfe will be tour in support of Frank Turner during the month of September and Toadies in October. Official tour dates can be found HERE!
