Jack White offers exclusive look into private life in newly published book of writings

To the lovers, to the poets and musicians, to the power of the people, and the last true rockstars, a new holy grail has been delivered!

Rock legend Jack White has given the public an exclusive look into his notoriously private life with the release of his book, Jack White Collected Lyrics and Selected Writing Volume 1, available now via Third Man Records. The collection of works will detail photos, lyrics, new poems, and writings from the musician, and exploratory essays.

The featured essays, written by Pulitzer prize winning poet Matejka, filmmaker dream hampton, and Third Man Records co-founder Ben Blackwell, will give readers a guided analysis of White’s creative and professional work. The external works are promised to delve into the rocker’s upbringing, his personal semantics and creative processes.

More than simply a musician, Jack White was a name which blazened the minds of thousands throughout the 90s and onwards. There is something so alluring about his individualism, the pure genuineness of his self-expression which dripped out of all of his pursuits: the way he dressed, how he conducted himself in interviews, the emotions behind his music. The works collected in the book promise to give a saturated glimpse into what made him tick the way he did.

Especially representative of this lies in one poem from the book, possibly about his ex-wife, Meg:

a tiny hearted bubble // in the arms of a true loving woman in trouble // breaks easily // and quickly // turning hard men’s granite hearts instantly to rubble // but if carefully grasped and cradled in arms // with delicate fingers caressing // and sour tears and burdens masked // the sphere can live on in love // and replace confusion // without wearing a glove // or saying a word // it can last

The Hall-of-Famer rose to stardom from the ground of the Detroit music scene, where he met his eventual Meg White. With her on drums and Jack on vocals and strings, the two formed The White Stripes, quickly ascending into garage rock prominence.

Though their marriage was short lived, divorcing in 2000 after four years of marriage, the two continued to perform together for years. During that period, Jack also headlined other big hitters, The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather, and eventually his solo career. This collection will explore Jack’s inner workings throughout all of these experiences.

In a current world ruled by quick answers and regurgitation of content, originality is a rare phoenix in an ashpile.

Could this in-depth opportunity to peek into the psyche of the rock legend be not just an exciting new read, but also an act of resistance? In Jack White’s own words off his Grammy-nominated album, NO NAME:

You’re gonna find out // You’re gonna find out // You’re gonna find out.
