Sea Hear Now Festival 2026: A Multigenerational Celebration of Indie, Rock, and the Jersey Shore
Summer may be winding down, but don’t pack away those shorts just yet. Sea.Hear.Now Festival is bringing one last dose of summer to the Jersey Shore when it returns to Asbury Park on September 19 and 20, 2026. Set against the backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean, the annual festival will once again bring two days of music, surfing, art, and plenty of beach-town energy to North Beach and Bradley Park.
The 2026 Lineup
This year’s lineup offers something for just about every generation of music fan. Headliners Mumford & Sons and The Strokes anchor a bill that spans decades and genres, with performances from legends including The Pixies, Men at Work, and Chaka Khan, and Kim Gordon alongside artists who helped define the alternative and indie-rock landscape of the 1990s and 2000s. The Offspring, Moby, Goo Goo Dolls, and The All-American Rejects bring plenty of nostalgia, while Fontaines D.C., Die Spitz, Flipturn, and other newer and contemporary acts keep the festival firmly rooted in the present.
There’s an especially strong thread of indie and alternative rock running through this year’s lineup, at a time when the genre seems to be experiencing something of a renaissance. Many of today’s emerging artists have drawn inspiration from the bands that broke through in the late '90s and early 2000s, making Sea.Hear.Now an interesting meeting point between the artists who helped shape the sound and those carrying it forward.
And this isn’t simply a weekend built around nostalgia. Both of the festival’s headliners have new music to bring to the stage. The Strokes released their seventh studio album, Reality Awaits, in July—their first album since 2020's The New Abnormal. Mumford & Sons also entered a new chapter this year with the release of Prizefighter, their sixth studio album, in February.
That makes this year’s festival particularly exciting for longtime fans. Rather than simply revisiting the songs that made these artists famous, audiences will get the chance to see where some of these influential bands are heading next. For younger fans, meanwhile, the festival offers an opportunity to see some of the artists who helped pave the way for the alternative and indie acts they listen to today.
