Thornhill pivot to U.S. tour with Sleep Token, exit upcoming LANDMVRKS shows
Sleep Token is set to launch their sold-out arena tour in support of their latest album Even In Arcadia. The band has seen massive success in recent months, with their single “Emergence” spending several weeks at #1 on Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs chart, and “Even In Arcadia” debuting at #1 on the Billboard 200.
On August 4, Sleep Token announced that Melbourne-based heavy metal band Thornhill will be joining them on their U.S. tour. Thornhill has been a rising force in the metal scene, known for their dynamic sound and passionate fanbase. Speaking on today’s announcement, Thornhill shared:
"We're truly honored to be joining Sleep Token on the Even in Arcadia US tour. This is a massive moment for us, and we're looking forward to connecting with fans across the country and bringing everything we've got to the stage every night."
Thornhill’s third album BODIES was released in April, reaching the U.S. charts at #11 on Hard Music Albums and #35 on Rock Albums.
The band’s announcement has sparked mixed reactions. While many Sleep Token fans are excited to discover Thornhill’s music, some Thornhill supporters are conflicted. This follows the band’s recent decision to withdraw from a previously scheduled North American tour with LANDMVRKS. Before the Sleep Token announcement, Thornhill had on their Facebook page:
“Unfortunately we have made the decision to step away from the tour supporting Landmarks. We appreciate everyone involved and by no means was this an easy decision to be made, please do keep your ticket and see the rest of bands on that lineup and support them however you can.”
The Even In Arcadia tour begins September 16 in Atlanta, GA, and wraps up October 11 in Los Angeles, CA.
