Just months removed from their latest studio album Pantheon, Dance Gavin Dance are back with a third live album, the appropriately named Tree City Sessions 3.
As with the previous two albums, the album features live re-recordings of tracks spanning the band's long and illustrious discography. The first track the band is debuting is a new version of “Need Money” from 2011’s Downtown Battle Mountain II. Co-frontman Jon Mess notes that “‘Need Money’ is an underrated song. It’s weird and fun, and you gotta love those horns.”
There’s something for everyone on this record, as the tracklist, in typical Tree City Sessions fashion, spans the band's almost two-decade-long discography and includes some serious deep cuts that the band, including new full-time clean vocalist Andrew Wells, will undoubtedly breathe new life into.
Dance Gavin Dance kicks off their spring tour this May with The Fall of Troy, Horse The Band, Wolf & Bear, and Novelists. It starts on May 5th in Austin and spans two months across the country. You can also catch the band this year at several festivals, including Sonic Temple and several dates of the Vans Warped Tour. Tickets for all their upcoming dates are on sale right now at dancegavindanceband.com
