Mannequin Pussy bring acclaimed fury to Boston on Turnstile Tour

Mannequin Pussy opening for Turnstile at Boston's Suffolk Downs

A breakthrough year for Philly's punk heroes

Philadelphia punk rock quartet Mannequin Pussy have been riding a wave of momentum heading into their fall tour, which includes a much-anticipated stop in Boston on September 20. That night, the band will play The Stage at Suffolk Downs supporting hardcore stars Turnstile, marking a highlight of a tour that caps off a truly breakthrough year for Mannequin Pussy. Fresh off a string of sold-out shows and festival appearances, the Philly legends-in-the-making are poised to bring their explosive live energy and critically acclaimed songs to the Boston stage and beyond on their upcoming tour.

Rave reviews for I Got Heaven

Much of Mannequin Pussy’s recent buzz centers on their latest album, I Got Heaven, which has earned rave reviews across the board including an 8.8 rating from Pitchfork and a coveted Best New Music tag, calling it “a mouthy, messy, self-assured record”. The album’s bold blend of “defiant punk, buoyant power-pop and fuzzed-out rock” , all anchored by frontwoman Marisa “Missy” Dabice’s confrontational lyrics drew high praise. I Got Heaven was featured on numerous “Best of 2024” lists (including Rolling Stone’s top 25 albums of the year and year-end tallies from Billboard, Spin, Pitchfork, Associated Press and more), cementing Mannequin Pussy’s reputation as one of the most exciting punk acts in music active right now.

From late-night debut to festival stages

Earlier this year, Mannequin Pussy made their televised debut on Netflix’s Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney, tearing through their single “I Got Heaven” alongside a tongue-in-cheek choir of faux nuns. The performance was classic Mannequin Pussy. Irreverent, cathartic, and larger-than-life. The viral set introduced their explosive live energy to a national audience and confirmed what longtime fans already knew: this band deserves the spotlight.

Of course, Mannequin Pussy built their following the old-fashioned way: touring relentlessly and leaving jaws dropped at clubs and festivals worldwide. The band spent much of 2024 and 2025 on the road, headlining their first completely sold-out U.S. tour last spring and tearing up major festival stages.

Boston gets ready

All this momentum is building toward Mannequin Pussy’s upcoming run with Turnstile, which hits Boston on September 20. The show at Suffolk Downs promises to be an unforgettable night for punk fans, pairing one of hardcore’s biggest modern bands (Turnstile) with one of its most dynamic rising acts. For Mannequin Pussy, it’s another chance to bring people together through the fury of their music.
