Fans have waited months for rumors to be confirmed, but now its official: Metallica has locked in the Life Burns Faster residency at Sphere in Las Vegas!

Keeping to the “No Repeat Weekend” introduced during the M72 world tour, Metallica will deliver entirely different setlists each Thursday and Saturday in October:

  • October 1 and 3, 2026

  • October 15 and 17, 2026

  • October 22 and 24, 2026

  • October 29 and 31, 2026

Fans can purchase either two-night Weekend passes or single-show tickets, which will go on sale March 6 at 10 am PST. All the details including ticket access, presales, enhanced packages, and travel options can be found here: metallica.lnk.to/MetallicaSphere.

The Sphere residency promises setlists packed with fan favorites and deep cuts from across the Metallica catalog, elevated to a whole new level by the venue’s next-generation immersive technology. Featuring a massive wraparound LED display, a precision-driven immersive audio system, and multi-sensory 4D elements, the production is designed to transform the band’s trademark intensity into a fully enveloping experience.

Whether fans have previously caught Metallica from the nosebleed seats of a stadium, inside a packed theater, or in the middle of the coveted Snake Pit, the Sphere residency is set to deliver something entirely new.

For decades, Metallica has continued to push the boundaries of live performance, from the S&M concerts in 1999 with the San Francisco Symphony to their most recent M72 stadium tour, which is estimated to have reached more than four million fans.

Drummer Lars Ulrich reflected on the moment the idea first clicked:

“About 12 seconds into opening night at Sphere with U2 in 2023, I knew we had to be part of it. It felt like completely unexplored territory. This residency gives us another opportunity to rethink how we connect with fans in a live environment. We’re incredibly excited to bring this to life in a few months and seriously fired up to push things to the next level.”

Metallica: Life Burns Faster at Sphere is produced by Live Nation and presented by inKind. For continued updates and additional details, be sure to visit: metallica.lnk.to/MetallicaSphere.
