Paul Collins' Beat Returns to NYC for One-Night Power Pop Showcase, June 28

Power pop pioneer Paul Collins' Beat returns to New York City for a one-night-only performance at TV Eye on June 28, bringing fans an evening dedicated to the best of The Nerves and The Beat.

Joined by special guests Fast Kids and Murat Aktürk, Collins will revisit the songs that helped define the power pop movement, delivering the irresistible hooks, driving rhythms, and melodic energy that have made his music influential for generations. Opening the night will be New York rockers The Star Spangles.

Collins' impact on rock history dates back to the mid-1970s with The Nerves, whose song "Hanging On The Telephone" later became a hit when Blondie recorded it for Parallel Lines. He followed that success by forming The Beat, creating a string of beloved power pop classics and earning a reputation as one of the genre's most enduring and influential figures. Decades later, Collins remains a tireless performer, continuing to bring the same raw energy and songwriting prowess that earned him the nickname "King of Power Pop."

From the Rebel Rouser Records swap in the afternoon to the official after-party with DJ Ruby Q, June 28 promises to be a full day of power pop celebration at TV Eye!
