Violet Grohl Brings Debut Tour to Washington DC, Sells Out The Atlantis

As a promising talent with a familiar name, Violet Grohl has all eyes on her as she releases her debut album, Be Sweet to Me, and embarks on her first tour across North America. Her initial release has been met with overwhelming support and excitement for what’s still to come.

Her stop in Washington, DC, was at The Atlantis, an intimate venue but one that has the Grohl family woven into its history. The grand opening in 2023 was marked by a performance from the Foo Fighters, and three years later, Violet Grohl is blazing her own path and sold out the venue. Fans of all ages were packed in shoulder to shoulder, waiting for her to take the stage. The show had no opener and started around half an hour early, which only added to the anticipation.

Grohl has an elegant but reserved stage presence, focusing more on delivering a beautiful vocal performance than flashy dance moves, which created a unique energy in the room. The band launched into her upbeat hit “Bug in the Cake” and then several more songs off of her debut album, including “THUM” and “Last Day I Loved You.” Her voice is just as haunting in person as it is in the recorded tracks, carrying a classic 90’s sound while retaining something distinctly original.

The second group of songs she played included an unreleased track, “Sun is Blind,” which features heavier instrumentals and stronger vocals than much of her other music. She followed this up with an ethereal cover of Ween’s “Transdermal Celebration,” met widely with praise from the audience. She wrapped up the show with more tracks from Be Sweet to Me, leaving fans with that sense of fresh familiarity.

Although we are witnessing just the beginning of Violet Grohl’s official emergence in the music industry, she’s already sharing her passion for music and her brilliance in songwriting. With more music releases promised very soon, fans and music professionals alike cannot wait to see how she continues to evolve and grow into herself as an artist in the future.
