Alternative rock band Sleeping With Sirens released their powerful new single, “An Ending In Itself,” on March 19 via Rise Records. The track packs a punch both sonically and lyrically. Focusing on themes of mental health, the lyrics are an outstretched hand offering help and a listening ear to those who need it.

Frontman Kellin Quinn shared his thoughts in a recent press release:

“This song is a love letter to anyone in the midst of struggle. I think we live in an age where we’re supposed to pretend like we have it ‘all together all of the time’ so much so that we’re afraid to let anyone in.”

Through piercing guitars from Nick Martin and Tony Pizzuti and pounding drums and bass from Matty Best and Justin Hills, respectively, Quinn reaches out to the listener in hopes that they’ll share their thoughts and feelings. He pleads, singing: “But can we stop pretending that it’s all so good? // Can we say what’s real and say how you feel?”

“I think it’s important to have open dialogue and to ask for help when we need it,” Quinn continued in band’s press release. “This song is about being brave enough to admit that we’re not always okay. No matter what you’re going through, there is hope.”

Quinn shares some of that hope with similar experiences that he’s lived through as he sings “I stayed when it came and went, it’s something I’ve been dealing with.” Despite the struggles, Quinn promises that it gets better singing, “there’s a happy ending, it’ll change with time.”

If you don’t feel ready to articulate your thoughts, this song also provides the perfect opportunity to turn the volume up and just scream about it.

Sleeping with Sirens will be hitting the road this summer for festival season at Welcome to Rockville in Daytona Beach, FL; Warped Tour in Washington, D.C., Long Beach, CA and Orlando; Inkcarceration in Mansfield, OH; Louder Than Life in Louisville, KY; and Aftershock in Sacramento, CA.

“An Ending In Itself” is available to stream on all platforms.
