Young the Giant debuts new acoustic EP, In The Open Vol. 1

Earlier this year, Young the Giant announced two special anniversary shows at the Troubadour celebrating their self-titled album, as well as a decade of their hit album Mind Over Matter.

The band didn’t stop there though, announcing In The Open Vol. 1, a new EP featuring acoustic renditions of fan favorite songs including “Mind Over Matter,” as well as debuting a previously unreleased song “Bitter Fruit.”

The new EP heralds their In The Open Tour, an intimate concert experience performed in beautiful and iconic venues across the country, which kicked off on September 6 in Napa Valley.

Young the Giant shared:

’In The Open’ has been our superpower as a band since we started playing music together. There’s something so thrilling about reimagining our music in a way that’s more improvised, less controlled, and in a place you wouldn’t expect. We’re hoping to bring this feeling to you in our new tour Young the Giant: In The Open. While we can’t play a full set for you under a bridge or on a cliffside, we hope these beautiful intimate venues will give you the same feeling.”

As this EP is meant to help celebrate the experience of music in nature, the band has once again partnered with REVERB to make their tour more sustainable, engage fans in meaningful climate action, and support the nonprofit’s groundbreaking Music Decarbonization Project, which fast-tracks innovative climate solutions to eliminate the music industry’s carbon pollution at the source.

You can preorder a limited edition vinyl of this EP, pressed on 100% recycled green vinyl here. Check out their website youngthegiant.com for tickets to the In The Open Tour.
